In the summer of 1976, I was on the Ardtornish Estate in Morvern, on the Scottish west coast working on my undergraduate geology project. By coincidence and the generosity of the Raven family, thirty seven years later I was back with David Martin and the Leith School of Art Painting Course enjoying the scenery again. Unsurprisingly for the time of year, water was a prominent feature, in the loch, the overflowing river, and in the newly constructed hydro-electric plant. These paintings draw from all three features and their energy.
